What to know before renting an adventure or enduro motorcycle in Iceland — fleet, requirements, insurance and road rules.

Adventure & enduro fleet Fuel included Insurance options

What to expect

Renting a motorcycle in Iceland opens up the island on your own schedule — but the terrain, weather and F-road regulations make it a different game from renting a bike anywhere else in Europe.

Our rental fleet is built for Icelandic conditions: fully-serviced adventure and enduro bikes with long-range tanks, maintained by professional mechanics between every rental.

Whether you're joining a guided tour or riding independently, understanding licensing, insurance and road rules upfront saves you problems once you're out on the highlands.

A valid motorcycle license and a security deposit are required for every rental.

Independent rental on F-roads assumes prior off-road riding experience.

Highland F-roads typically open June to September — outside that window, routes are limited to ring-road and lowland tracks.

Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel and riding insurance in addition to the bike's basic cover.

Gear

Riding gear isn't included — bring your own or ask about rental gear when booking.

Route planning

We help plan a route suited to your rental duration, skill level and the season's road conditions.

Frequently asked

Yes — independent rental is available for experienced riders. We'll go through route planning and current F-road conditions with you before you set off.

Basic third-party insurance is included with every rental. We strongly recommend adding comprehensive travel and riding insurance on top.
