The group splits by choice: Challenging terrain with cinematic glacier views for experienced riders, or mixed tar and dirt with a closer look at the island's young geology for a smoother start. All groups meet up at the famous Geysir, erupting every 5-10 minutes, with the hotel just around the corner.
A short hike to Gullfoss waterfall kicks off the day, then the group splits: an advanced river-crossing route or a smoother gravel ride past the black lava fields of Mt. Hekla. Tonight's stay is a shared hut, off-grid for the next two days — Dry your gear by the fire, and settle into simple life in nature.
Ride into the Fjallabak National Park. Lunch stop in wild hotsprings are the highlight of the day so prepare your swimming shorts. Day ends in the same off-grid cabins as day-2.
The day starts at one of Iceland's tallest waterfalls, with a river crossing above the drop. Riders choose between a challenging route or a smoother mix of gravel and tar, both ending with a soak at Iceland's oldest swimming pool, built over 100 years ago. Dinner is served at the hotel.
A mixed-terrain ride back toward Reykjavík, with flowy, sandy trails leading to a unique lunchtime stop at Lake Laugarvatn, where the ground itself is boiling. From there it's a short ride back to base for a cold drink in the hot tub. The last dinner together covers flight details and departure, plus a souvenir to remember the trip by.
Highland-to-city return with reflection stops along the way, then a farewell celebration dinner in Reykjavík to close the expedition.
